South African born and a global citizen for more than 25 years, our founder brings a richly layered international perspective to the world of mahjong. Having lived across Singapore, China, the United States, the Netherlands, Kenya, and now Dubai, her life and career have been shaped by movement, cultural fluency, and a deep appreciation for tradition, thoughtfully reimagined.
With an MBA and an international career in business and finance that spanned multiple expatriate assignments, she later chose to step away from corporate life to focus on family. A wife and mother of three daughters, she now channels both her professional discipline and personal values into building something meaningful for her children and for the community around her.
The Journey
From the East to Europe to Dubai
Her relationship with mahjong began in the East and matured in Europe, where in 2010 she played with little more than two photocopied sheets of paper and a ruler. It was proof that the essence of the game lies not in perfection, but in connection.
Over the past decade in Dubai, casual play evolved into teaching, mentoring, and sharing the game socially, planting the seeds for what would become a refined and purpose-led business.
Today, she designs and creates bespoke mahjong tiles and leads a mahjong social club dedicated to craftsmanship, learning, and belonging.
Rooted in heritage yet expressed through modern design, her work celebrates mahjong as both an intellectual pursuit and a social ritual, one that strengthens memory, sharpens cognitive skills, and invites people to slow down and engage fully with one another.
